Lemaire Channel
Traversed for the first time in 1898 by the Adrien de Gerlache Expedition, the Lemaire Channel has become a frequent destination for expedition cruises to Antarctica. At its narrowest, the channel is less than 800 meters wide, with towering peaks overhead. The channel can be full of icebergs and sea ice, which makes manoeuvring difficult, but visually unforgettable.
