Obelisco

This monument to the city and its founders was erected in 1936, and soon became an icon of Buenos Aires. The designer, Alberto Presbich, was inspired from the obelisks that he had seen in Paris years before. The Obelisco lies at the intersection of the mighty 9 de Julio Avenue and the famous Corrientes Avenue, where theaters and legendary pizza places host the locals every night.
